Baseball bat assault leads to arrest as separate probation case unfolds in Cumberland
Cumberland, MD — A reported early morning assault involving a baseball bat led to the arrest of a 34-year-old woman, while a separate probation violation case brought another arrest the same day, police said.
Officers responded around 6:46 a.m. Wednesday to the 600 block of Sedgwick Street, where they found a male who had been assaulted with a baseball bat.
Following an investigation, police identified Allison Ruth Kuhn, 34, of Cumberland, as the suspect. She was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
Kuhn was transported to Central Booking and later released after posting a $5,000 unsecured personal bond.
In a separate incident, officers served a bench warrant on Tyler Leon Patterson, 23, also of Cumberland, for violating probation tied to an original second-degree assault charge.
Patterson was taken into custody, appeared before a District Court Commissioner, and posted a $2,500 unsecured personal bond.
Both cases remain active within the court system.
