BRONX, N.Y. — Police are searching for a suspect accused of punching an on-duty MTA conductor in the face during a confrontation aboard a northbound 6 train in the Bronx.

According to NYPD Crime Stoppers, the assault happened around 9:17 p.m. Saturday at the 3 Avenue–138 Street subway station within the confines of the 40th Precinct and Transit District 12.

Investigators said the suspect approached the 47-year-old conductor and demanded that the train doors be opened.

Police said the unidentified individual then punched the conductor in the face before fleeing the station on foot in an unknown direction.

Authorities have not released a description of the suspect or information about the victim’s condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.
