Sheriff deputies say the armed repeat offender was found hiding in a Brighton Heights residence
PITTSBURGH, Pa. — A Pittsburgh man with multiple prior firearms convictions and active domestic assault warrants is back behind bars after sheriff’s detectives tracked him to a Brighton Heights home and arrested him without incident.
Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced that 24-year-old Deandre Williams was taken into custody this week following an investigation by detectives from the sheriff’s office.
According to authorities, Williams has pleaded guilty on three separate occasions since 2023 to firearms-related offenses, including carrying a firearm without a license and person not to possess a firearm.
In March, bench warrants were issued in all three cases after Williams allegedly violated probation conditions, officials said.
Authorities also said Williams was wanted by the City of Pittsburgh on two separate domestic-related simple assault warrants involving two different women.
Detectives developed information indicating Williams was inside a residence on Benton Avenue in the Brighton Heights neighborhood.
When investigators arrived at the home, they reportedly observed Williams inside the residence.
Police said a woman answered the door and confirmed Williams was inside the house.
Detectives then entered the residence and located Williams in the dining room, where he was arrested without incident.
Williams was transported to the Allegheny County Jail following the arrest.
Authorities did not release additional details regarding the domestic assault allegations or probation violations.
All charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
