Stafford traffic stop uncovers drugs and paraphernalia near I-95 corridor

Driver and passenger both lacked valid licenses as deputies find narcotics during roadside search

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A traffic stop near Interstate 95 led to a narcotics arrest after deputies say they discovered controlled substances and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle with two unlicensed occupants, according to the sheriff’s office.

The stop occurred on May 30 at Warrenton Road and I-95 after a deputy observed a suspicious vehicle. Authorities said both the driver and passenger admitted they did not have valid driver’s licenses, which prompted further investigation.

Deputies conducted a search and reportedly found narcotics and paraphernalia near the passenger seat, including a scale with white powder residue inside a bag.

The passenger, identified as Megan Ford, 42, of Fredericksburg, was charged with possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance and held on a secured bond.

The driver, Wesley Whiting Jr., 44, also of Fredericksburg, was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license.

Authorities did not release additional details on the substances pending court proceedings.
