St. Petersburg, FL – A police officer and another person were shot Wednesday evening according to St. Petersburg police. Few details have been released but here’s what is known so far. {P;oce were investigating 20-year-old Dominique Harris who was wanted on a child abuse charge. Officers were tasked with taking Harris into custody and were shot at by Harris as he approached. One detective was hit and is recovering in the hospital. Officers then returned fire, killing Harris. A second officer was reported as injured. The Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force Investigative Task Force is investigating.
