549 more housing units approved by Jackson planning board

JACKSON, NJ – Jackson Parke South, part of a future development that includes over 1,000 homes on the heavily wooded western side of Jackson is a done deal.

That comes after a decision by the Jackson planning board to approve the 549 unit Jackson Parke South application Monday evening. The decision by the board was unanimous in its approval.

Jackson Parke South was heavily opposed to by the people of Jackson, but the project which includes 344 townhouses, 144 apartments, and 61 single-family homes is going to be built. The project was initially rejected by then planning board Chairman Ken Bressi. In 2020, Jackson Mayor Michael Reina and the township council fire Bressi, stripping him of all of his committee seats, paving the way for the long battle to finally be over. Bressi lead the rejection of Jackson Parke North ending the 35 year battle between developers seeking to build on the land and the township.

Final approval for Jackson Parke North was eventually granted in July of 2020.
