COLUMBUS, OH – A 26-year-old male was shot in the leg as he was sitting inside his car on North 4th Street in Columbus on Tuesday. The shot fired penetrated his car door before striking his leg.

Tuesday morning at 2:41am, 26-year-old Donnell Thompson called 911 to report that while sitting in his car outside of 964-966 N. 4th St he heard what he thought was a gunshot and felt something hit his leg.

It wasn’t until after driving to a safe location that he realized the bullet had passed through his car door injuring him. Responding officers were able to recover the projectile which was turned in as evidence.

Thompson received a minor injury to his left calf and was not transported to the hospital.
