Traffic Stop in Utica Ends with Meth Possession Charge

UTICA, NY – A routine traffic stop on Thursday ended with drug possession charges.

Utica Police reported at approximately 10:30 PM officers with the Crime Prevention Unit were conducting proactive patrols when they stopped a vehicle on the 1200 block of Steuben Street for staffic violations.

“During the course of the stop, items of contraband were noticed, and a subsequent search of the driver and vehicle yielded several individually tied baggies containing what was believed to be methamphetamine, as well as almost $1200 in cash,” police sad.

As a result of the search, the driver was arrested and transported to the Utica Police Department and the contraband and cash were secured. An investigator with the Special Investigations Unit then charged Tha Leh Pow, age 40 of Utica.
