New York, NY- A 43-year-old man riding the New York City southbound L train near Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn was attacked by an unknown subject and slashed with a sharp object. New York City Police Department said the man was rushed to Brookdale hospital and was later pronounced dead.
The incident happened at around 9 p.m. Friday night. At this time, police do not have any suspects, but I reviewed nearby surveillance footage and attempt to identify the attacker.
In recent months, the New York City subway system has escalated violent crimes, causing many to fear riding the subway alone or at night. Violent crimes in New York City public transportation are up 43% this year compared to last year.
