Nearly Two Million Square Feet of Warehouses planned on Whitesville Road in Jackson

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – It is being dubbed as Whitesville Crossing, and nearly two million square feet of warehouses are being proposed on a property owned by CDR-Whitesville, affiliated with the Bil-Jim Construction company.

In total, 1.8 million square feet of warehouses and 2,000 square feet of contractor office space is planned, according to a site plan published online.

The project plans discovered today call for nine large warehouse buildings to be built on the sand mining pit owned by the Johnson family, owners of Bil-Jim Construction.

The project will be built on the existing entrance to the property with an access road along White Road. It will have parking spaces for 1,300 vehicles.

Earlier this week, signs for the mayoral campaign of Marty Flemming began popping on properties owned by Bil-Jim across Jackson, signaling a relationship between Flemming and the developer.

Flemming signs were posted at the entrance to the massive warehouse project on Monday and on Bil-Jim properties at the intersection of Whitesville Road and South Hope Chapel Road and at a Bil-Jim office located on Bennetts Mills Road at the intersection of Butterfly Road.

Flemming has not responded to requests for comments by Shore News Network during his mayoral campaign.

Four of the proposed warehouse will have an estimated 300,000 square feet of space as nearly every inch of usable land in the massive complex is destined to be turned into warehouses or parking lots.

The property is currently zoned as light industrial and is surrounded by residential properties.

The builder is proposing a 100-foot buffer between the project and existing residential tracts to the north and south but no buffer on the eastern edge of the property.

At this time, no formal plan for the project has been submitted to the township, but plans made by Professional Design Services of Lakewood identify the project as Whitesville Crossing.
