POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – An adult male, police believed to be an innocent bystander, sustained a gunshot wound near the intersection of Main and South Cherry Streets on Monday evening at approximately 8:25 p.m. in Poughkeepsie.
Police officers and EMTs were first on the scene, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was stabilized at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
The Poughkeepsie Police Department continues to investigate, seeking both evidence and witnesses related to the incident. They ask anyone with information to call the confidential TIP LINE at 845-451-7577.
