Bronx Man Arrested in Connection with January Homicide

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department has recently announced the arrest of 20-year-old Jamir Scarboro from Bronx on charges related to a homicide that took place earlier this year. The charges include murder, manslaughter, attempted murder, attempted assault, and possession of a weapon.

On last Thursday, Scarboro was arrested and charged within the Bronx area. This comes after an ongoing investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, January 19. On the day of the incident, a 15-year-old male, identified as Josue Lopez-Ortega, was shot in the head and later pronounced dead at NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln. A 16-year-old male was also injured during the incident, sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg.
