Spectator Shot And Killed At Neighborhood Soccer Game

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man was shot and killed last night in Northwest D.C. The shooting happened in the Adams Morgan neighborhood at the 2200 Block of Champlain Street.

Shortly before 8:30 pm, DC Police were called to the location to investigate a report of shots fired. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound near a soccer field at the rec center. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

30-year-old Arnold Humberto Solis, of D.C., was identified as the victim.

According to Chief Smith, the victim, and the shooter were talking under a tree when the victim was shot. The suspect quietly left the crime scene.

Police issued a lookout for a suspect, described as a “black male with several tattoos, chubby, around 190lbs, 6 ft tall, last seen wearing dark clothing with a tan camel-colored bucket hat.”
