Murder-Suicide in Southeast Columbus Leaves Two Dead

COLUMBUS, OH – A shooting incident unfolded late Saturday morning in southeast Columbus, resulting in the deaths of two men in what the Columbus Police Department describes as a murder-suicide.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment on the 3200 block of Melissa Place in the Linwood neighborhood at 11:31 a.m. following reports of a shooting.

A man in his 20s was found at the scene with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at 11:39 p.m. Further investigation revealed that the suspect, another man in his 20s, had fled the apartment with a handgun.

He was later located on the 3000 block of Bexvie Avenue with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was declared dead at 12:22 p.m.

The Columbus Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident and asked anyone with information to contact them.
