STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – An incident unfolded on Friday night when a 17-year-old female was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in a Stapleton apartment.
The police were alerted at approximately 9:18 p.m. and upon arrival, found the young female unresponsive.
EMS declared her deceased at the scene. Initial investigations hint at a possible suicide.
The weapon was not found at the scene, which had multiple individuals present during the incident.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be disclosed, and the investigation continues.
