Fatal Shooting in Southwest D.C. Claims Life of 29-Year-Old Man

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch is investigating a shooting in Southwest Washington, D.C., that resulted in the death of 29-year-old Gary Lavon Love III. The incident occurred on Monday night.

At around 9:29 p.m., police officers responded to a shooting report in the 4600 block of South Capitol Street. Upon arrival, they found Love on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have launched a full investigation into the shooting and are seeking assistance from the public.
