Stolen French Bulldog Returned to Owner by D.C. Police

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metro Police Department in Washington, D.C., successfully reunited a stolen French Bulldog puppy named Hendrix with its owner following a recent armed robbery incident. The recovery operation, led by the Violent Crime Suppression Division in collaboration with Fifth District detectives, took place yesterday morning in the 1200 block of Morse Street in Northeast D.C.

The puppy, Hendrix, was initially taken during an armed robbery last Saturday. As the owner was entering her building, she was confronted by a male assailant armed with a taser. The suspect demanded the dog, and after the owner complied, he escaped in a black Nissan with tinted windows bearing paper tags, heading eastbound on Monroe Street.

The breakthrough in the case came after Hendrix’s owner received a call on Monday from an individual claiming to have the puppy and offering to sell it back. This information was promptly relayed to the police.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the robbery, and the investigation continues to ascertain how the adult female, who was found with Hendrix, came into possession of the dog. MPD detectives are actively working to identify the robbery suspect, described as a black male, around 5’5″ tall, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, black coat, light denim jeans, and colorful shoes.
