Delaware Natural Resources Police Spotlight K9 River

DELAWARE – Delaware Natural Resources Police introduced the public to one of their key team members, K9 River, a skilled 8-year-old black lab with an impressive set of skills and a friendly demeanor.

K9 River, originally from the Milford area, has been an integral part of the force since she was just 5 months old, working alongside her handler. Certified in tracking, article detection, and wildlife detection, she plays a crucial role in various operations.

Her favorite work-related activity is locating evidence, and she thrives on the excitement of being rewarded with her bumper for successful finds. When not on duty, K9 River enjoys a more relaxed lifestyle, spending quality time with her family and indulging in swims in her pond.

K9 River’s social nature extends to a love for people and other dogs, making her a friendly and approachable member of the team. The Delaware Natural Resources Police encourage the public to greet K9 River warmly if they encounter her, celebrating her contributions to the community and the bond she shares with those around her.
