Pittsburgh Police Apprehend Armed Suspect Following Standoff

PITTSBURGH, PA – On the morning of December 21, Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, backed by SWAT, carried out a felony arrest warrant in the 400 block of W. Elizabeth Street.

The target of the operation, a 19-year-old male, initially barricaded himself inside a residence. He eventually surrendered to the authorities without any further incidents.

During the operation, police secured additional search warrants leading to the discovery of a fully automatic pistol, modified with a switch and extended magazine. The search also uncovered quantities of heroin and crack cocaine.

The suspect, identified as Donald Hines Jr., faces charges related to firearms and narcotics violations. He is currently held at the Allegheny County Jail.
