WASHINGTON, DC – The D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch has made a significant breakthrough in a shooting case that occurred in Southeast D.C., leading to the death of a man. An arrest has been made in connection with the fatal incident.

The shooting took place on November 4th, around 3:45 p.m., in the 1400 block of L Street, Southeast. First District officers, upon responding to the shooting report, discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Charles Towles, a resident of Southeast, D.C.

In a critical development yesterday, 20-year-old Tremon Jackson, also from Southeast D.C., was arrested. The arrest was executed by Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force members under a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. Jackson was transported to the Homicide Branch and has been charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
