NEWARK, NJ — A shooting occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on Monday, January 1, at La Rouge, a lounge located on the 900 block of Broad Street, according to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.
Police officers, who responded swiftly to the scene, discovered two male victims. Both individuals were immediately transported to University Hospital for urgent medical care. At the time of the report, one victim was in critical condition, while the other was in a stable state, as per Fragé’s briefing.
La Rouge, the site of the incident, had been hosting a New Year’s celebration, as indicated by the lounge’s social media activity. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under thorough investigation, and no arrests have been made yet.
