Million Dollar Powerball Ticket Sold in Hyattsville

HYATTSVILLE, MD – The New Year brought significant lottery wins to Prince George’s County, with residents claiming a $1 million second-tier prize and a $50,000 Double Play win in the Powerball. These wins coincided with the massive $842.4 million jackpot ticket sold in Michigan during the first Powerball drawing of 2024.

The winning numbers for the January 1 Powerball drawing were 12, 21, 42, 44, 49, with a Powerball number of 1. Maryland saw 38,362 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $1 million in the regular drawing. In the Powerball Double Play drawing on the same day, the winning numbers were 19, 31, 40, 42, and 64, with a Powerball number of 2.

The $1 million second-tier ticket was purchased at Green Meadows Exxon, located at 6762 Riggs Road in Hyattsville. Additionally, a third-tier $50,000 Double Play ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven #41286, situated at 9500 Ruby Lockhart Boulevard in Bowie.

Lottery officials advise winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and store them securely. Winners have 182 days from the drawing date to claim their prizes. Prize claims over $25,000 must be redeemed by mail or at the Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center in Baltimore.
