Boston, MA – On Wednesday, officers from the D-14 (Allston/Brighton) Drug Control Unit arrested 63-year-old Ivan Singleton of Dorchester on several drug trafficking charges.
The arrest occurred during a patrol near the Fidelis Housing Development in Brighton, an area known for drug-related activity. Officers observed a woman engaging in suspicious behavior, including pacing and making brief phone calls near Melvin Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue. She was seen entering and quickly exiting a vehicle, which led officers to suspect a drug transaction.
Following a stop of the vehicle at Commonwealth Avenue and Sidlaw Road, officers conducted an investigation that led to the discovery of two plastic bags containing what was believed to be fentanyl and crack cocaine inside a pill bottle. An inventory search of the vehicle further revealed about 17 grams of fentanyl, additional crack cocaine, various pills, digital scales, glass pipes, other drug paraphernalia, and $575 in cash.
Singleton faces charges including trafficking of class A, distribution of class B, two counts of possession with intent to distribute class B, and possession with intent to distribute class E. He is expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court. Meanwhile, the woman involved will be summoned to court for possession of class B.
