BALTIMORE, MD—A routine traffic stop escalated into a firearm seizure late Thursday night in Baltimore’s Northwest District.
At around 11:15 PM, detectives stopped a vehicle in the 3400 block of Calloway Avenue. K9 units alerted officers to something suspicious in the vehicle, prompting a detailed search.
The search revealed an automatic pistol hidden in the driver’s side door pocket. The driver, a 23-year-old individual, was arrested and taken to the Central Booking and Intake Facility without further incident.
