Cambridge man jailed without bond after Mace attack and assault during dispute over car keys
CAMBRIDGE, MD – A late-night argument turned violent in the early hours of Wednesday when a man allegedly assaulted a woman and sprayed Mace during a dispute over a vehicle key, leaving two people injured and one in custody without bond.
At approximately 1:26 a.m. on January 3, Cambridge Police responded to a disturbance on the 100 block of Mariners Way. When officers arrived, they found a male outside the residence showing signs of having been sprayed with Mace. Inside the home, a woman was also found to have been sprayed, with visible injuries including a bloody nose and a bite mark.
An investigation determined the altercation began over a car key and escalated when the male subject refused to leave the residence. Police identified the suspect as Torrance Demar Davis, 43, of Cambridge.
Davis was arrested at the scene and transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing. He was later turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections and held without bond.
He has been charged with one count of second-degree assault. No additional charges were reported at the time of release.
