Manhattan, NY – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery targeting an elderly woman in East Harlem.
According to investigators, the robbery occurred at approximately 5:57 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, near the intersection of Park Avenue and Pleasant Avenue.
Police said the suspect approached a 69-year-old woman and forcibly ripped a necklace from her neck before escalating the encounter.
Suspect allegedly displayed firearm
Investigators said the suspect then displayed a firearm and forcibly removed the victim’s cellphone from her pants pocket.
After taking the woman’s property, the suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
Authorities have not released additional information about the victim’s condition or whether any injuries were reported.
NYPD seeks public assistance
The NYPD has released images of the suspect and is asking anyone who recognizes the individual or has information about the robbery to come forward.

The individual depicted in the released images has not been convicted of a crime, and police are seeking to identify the suspect as the investigation remains active.
