BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ— The Berkeley Township Office of Emergency Management has issued a precautionary advisory to both full-time and seasonal residents regarding Tropical Storm Debby. As of now, the storm’s precise path remains uncertain, but it is projected to potentially affect the New Jersey coast between Tuesday and Thursday of the upcoming week.

Seasonal residents planning to leave this weekend are urged to secure their properties before departure. The advisory specifically recommends securing or storing loose items outdoors to prevent damage should the storm approach the coast and intensify. Continuous updates will be provided through the Berkeley Township Police Department (BTPD) and its Facebook page.

n addition to the advisory for Tropical Storm Debby, the National Weather Service has indicated multiple weather risks across the United States. A Moderate Risk of excessive rainfall is forecasted over parts of the Eastern Gulf Coast and Southeast on Sunday and Monday, potentially impacting broader areas than initially expected.

The Northeast, northern Mid-Atlantic, southern Mid-Atlantic/Southeast, and the southwest tip of Florida are under a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall on Saturday evening. Concurrently, the Northern Plains, Upper Mississippi Valley, and regions from the Northeast Coast to the Southern Mid-Atlantic also face a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms during the same time frame.

Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect for parts of the Pacific Northwest, Great Basin, Southeastern California, and the Southwest. Meanwhile, Heat Advisories are issued for the Northern Plains, Northern Rockies, and the Gulf Coast, highlighting a diverse array of weather challenges across the country.
