Boston police are investigating after a person was found dead Friday afternoon near Malcolm X Boulevard in Roxbury.
Authorities are seeking information after officers discovered a deceased individual in Roxbury, prompting an active investigation by the Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
Officers assigned to District B-2 responded at approximately 2:24 p.m. Friday to a report of a body found in the area of 100 Malcolm X Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they located the victim and determined the person was deceased.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide Detectives Reviewing Circumstances
Boston police said homicide detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
At this stage, authorities have not released the victim’s identity, age, gender, or a possible cause of death.
Investigators have also not indicated whether foul play is suspected.
“The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident,” the department said in a statement.

Detectives are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
Police are also accepting anonymous tips through CrimeStoppers.

Authorities said photos and videos related to the investigation may also be submitted anonymously.
