Boston Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Multiple Break-Ins

BOSTON, MA — The Boston Police Department reported the arrest of 54-year-old Cheval Holmes of Dorchester following a breaking and entering incident in Roxbury. The arrest occurred early on Friday, June 28th, 2024, around 2:02 AM near the intersection of Blue Hill Ave. and Edgewood St.

Responding to a 911 call about a window being broken and an intruder entering a building, officers were provided with a suspect description and location by radio operations. During their search, officers discovered Holmes inside a trailer with various burglary tools. A subsequent check revealed multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Further investigation connected Holmes to another break-in that happened on Sunday, June 23rd, near 65 Norfolk St, Dorchester. This led to his identification as a suspect in that prior incident as well.

Holmes faces multiple charges, including five counts of breaking and entering a vehicle and/or boat during nighttime, three counts of breaking and entering a building during nighttime, one count of breaking and entering a building during daytime which put a person in fear, as well as charges of larceny from a truck, a building, and attempted larceny. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
