Police release surveillance images after suspects walked out of Northwest retail store without paying

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police are searching for two suspects accused of carrying out a daytime retail theft inside a Northwest Washington store before fleeing with stolen merchandise.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the theft happened around 11:07 a.m. March 30 in the 600 block of 13th Street Northwest.

Investigators said two suspects entered the retail store, selected items and left the business without paying.

Police said the suspects fled the area after taking the merchandise.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured images and video of the suspects during the incident.

Authorities released the footage Sunday as detectives continue working to identify the pair.

No arrests have been announced.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the theft is asked to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or submit anonymous tips through MPD’s text tip line at 50411.

Police said a reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
