Traffic stop in Brooklyn Park leads to drug and gun bust, two arrested
Brooklyn Park, MD — A late-night traffic stop in Brooklyn Park ended with the arrest of two men and the seizure of drugs, cash, and a loaded firearm, Baltimore Police confirmed Wednesday.
On Tuesday, September 23, at around 10:30 p.m., detectives from the Northern District Strategic Patrol Team stopped a silver Infiniti Q50. Based on probable cause, officers conducted a vehicle search, which led to the discovery of multiple controlled substances and a loaded handgun.
Among the items recovered were:
- A pill bottle containing 73 orange pills (approximately 9.6 grams) of suspected Alprazolam
- A small baggie with three pink circular pills (approximately 0.3 grams) of suspected Oxycodone
- A black digital scale with unidentified residue
- $483 in U.S. currency
- 26 small plastic baggies
- A black .40 caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun with 10 live rounds
The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested at the scene and charged in connection with weapons and CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substance) violations.
The suspects were identified as:
- William Kearney, 37, of Halethorpe, Maryland
- Keion Ricks, 27 (residence not disclosed)
No injuries were reported during the stop, and the case remains under investigation by Northern District detectives.
