Two masked suspects, believed to be juveniles, are accused of stealing a Honda Civic during an armed carjacking on Benning Road early Wednesday.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Police are searching for two masked suspects after an armed carjacking in Northeast DC early Wednesday morning left a driver without their vehicle.
According to a Metropolitan Police Department crime alert, officers responded at approximately 1:48 a.m. to the 1900 block of Benning Road, Northeast, for a reported armed carjacking.
Investigators said two Black male suspects, possibly juveniles, were involved in the incident.
One suspect was described as having a slim build, standing about 5-foot-8 and wearing a blue hoodie with animal ears attached and a ski mask.
The second suspect was described as wearing a green hoodie, blue jeans and a ski mask.
Police said the suspects stole a gray 2016 Honda Civic bearing DC registration tags.
The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Benning Road toward 21st Street, Northeast.
No injuries were immediately reported, and additional details about the victim and circumstances surrounding the carjacking were not released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
