WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A 64-year-old Connecticut man died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while crossing State Highway 35 earlier this month, police confirmed.

Michael Losacano, of Niantic, Connecticut, was hit at approximately 6:42 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, near Wall Church Road. Wall Township Police responded to reports of a pedestrian accident and found Losacano critically injured at the scene.

Authorities said a Ford Explorer, driven by a 72-year-old man from Farmingdale, was traveling southbound on State Highway 35 when it struck Losacano. Emergency medical services transported the victim to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Despite treatment, Losacano succumbed to his injuries on Monday, November 18.

The incident remains under investigation by Wall Township Police Sergeant Andrew Baldino, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Nicholas Logothetis.

Officials are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the collision to contact Wall Township Police at (732) 449-4500.

The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
