Man accused of school threats arrested at Pittsburgh courthouse

PITTSBURGH, PA – A 28-year-old man charged with threatening to kill staff and students at a local school district was arrested Tuesday morning at the Allegheny County Courthouse after deputies recognized him from previous court appearances.

Daniel White, who has no listed address, was charged with three counts of terroristic threats after entering Crisis RESOLVE on North Braddock Avenue on Sunday and allegedly threatening to kill two staff members before vowing to “kill everyone” and “shoot up schools,” specifically naming Shaler Elementary.

Allegheny County Police issued a “Be On Lookout” alert for White early Tuesday. During roll call at the courthouse, deputies recognized his name from prior Mental Health Court sessions. Although White was not scheduled for any hearing, he appeared at the courthouse unannounced.

Deputies apprehended him without incident, and he was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
