Drunk driver slams into house and car in Stafford County rampage

Stafford County, VA – A North Stafford neighborhood was left with a path of destruction late Tuesday night after a driver allegedly slammed his pickup truck into a parked car, tore through a front yard, and crashed into an occupied home before attempting to flee the scene, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded just before 11:30 p.m. to Huff Drive, where residents reported a violent collision involving a pickup truck. When law enforcement arrived, they found extensive damage—including an uprooted tree, a shattered light post, a wrecked Mercedes, and a heavily damaged home. The house was occupied at the time, but no injuries were immediately reported.

A deputy traced a trail of debris through the neighborhood, which led to a visibly damaged pickup truck attempting to leave the area. Behind the wheel was 35-year-old Alexandros Brownlee.

When questioned, Brownlee admitted to drinking two beers with dinner but could not remember where he had come from. Deputies said he showed signs of severe intoxication and was found to have a fictitious license plate on the vehicle. His blood alcohol content was measured above .2—more than twice the legal limit in Virginia.

Brownlee was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, felony hit and run of attended property, felony destruction of property, and possession of a fictitious license plate. He is currently being held without bond.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not yet released estimates on the cost of the damage.
