Former Rockland corrections officer pleads guilty to 128 child pornography charges

New City, NY – A former Rockland County corrections officer has pleaded guilty to a full 128-count indictment involving child sexual abuse material, admitting to uploading dozens of illicit images and videos to his personal Google Drive account.

Daniel Dworkin, 45, of Valley Cottage, entered his guilty plea before Judge Djinsad Desir to 64 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child and 64 counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child. Investigators say the offenses occurred between February 21 and June 19, 2024, and involved content depicting minors under the age of 17.

The case was investigated by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Special Victims Unit with assistance from the Clarkstown Police Department. Dworkin was employed as a corrections officer during the time of the offenses.

Prosecutors offered the maximum sentence of seven years in state prison, but the court extended a different sentencing offer. Dworkin accepted the judge’s offer of one to three years in state prison. The sentence was not agreed to by the prosecution.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 20, 2026. Upon release, Dworkin will be required to register as a sex offender under New York State law.

The case is being prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Gerard M. Damiani III of the Special Victims Unit.
