HARRISBURG, PA – Jason Robles, 43, previously of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 65 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and is ordered to pay $100 in financial penalties. The sentence comes after Robles pleaded guilty to possessing ammunition as a previously convicted felon, as announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
The United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam stated that in August 2021, Robles was caught driving a motorcycle at dangerously high speeds, up to 115 mph, on I-81 in Cumberland County. A high-speed chase ensued when a Pennsylvania State Trooper attempted to pull him over, during which Robles dangerously crossed into oncoming traffic. Upon his arrest, Robles was found with heroin, marijuana, and cocaine base, along with a .9mm Polymer handgun without a serial number, loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition. Robles has prior convictions, including a state felony drug offense in 2021 and a federal drug offense in 2002, which prohibit him from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Robles’s sentencing is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a nationwide initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence, thereby making communities safer. The program emphasizes building trust within communities, supporting organizations that prevent violence, setting focused enforcement priorities, and evaluating the outcomes of these efforts.
