Man accused of firing at car with woman and 4 kids arrested in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, PA – A 50-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection to a shooting last week in Harrisburg, where police say he fired a gun at a car occupied by a woman and four small children.

Robert Banks was taken into custody on January 27 following an investigation into the January 22 shooting on the 1400 block of Hunter Street. Police allege Banks discharged a firearm at the vehicle during an altercation, placing the occupants—including the children—in immediate danger.

Banks is facing five counts of aggravated assault, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, one count of possession of a firearm prohibited, and one count of recklessly endangering another person. He is currently being held pending arraignment.

The motive behind the incident has not been released, and no injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. Police have not confirmed whether Banks and the victims knew each other or what led to the confrontation.
