Man wanted in New Jersey homicide caught in Pennsylvania

Wilkes-Barre, PA — A man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation out of New Jersey was taken into custody at a Pennsylvania hotel after authorities tracked his location.

The arrest occurred around 7:31 a.m. April 29 on Kidder Street in Wilkes-Barre. Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, working with Wilkes-Barre City Police, located the suspect at a hotel.

Authorities identified the man as 39-year-old Jahlil Zamora of Irvington, New Jersey. He was wanted on an active warrant for criminal homicide issued by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officials said Zamora surrendered without incident when officers made contact.

He was taken into custody and transported to Wilkes-Barre City Police Headquarters for processing and arraignment.
