The incident unfolded just after midnight, drawing emergency responders to a rural stretch south of Kendale Road.
LEWES, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Sunday at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Wil King Road. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram traveling southbound left the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation, entered a ditch, overturned onto its roof, and collided with a tree.
The driver, identified as a 26-year-old man from Lewes, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities are withholding his name pending notification of his family.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have not released additional details about potential contributing factors.
