Third-prize ticket matched enough numbers to land a massive Powerball payout
BAYSIDE, N.Y. — One New York Lottery player is holding a winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 after the third-prize-winning ticket from Saturday night’s drawing was sold at a Bayside service station.
The New York Lottery announced the winning ticket for the May 16 Powerball drawing was sold at Francis Lewis Service Station, located at 200-01 47 Ave. in Bayside, Queens.
Lottery officials said the ticket matched enough numbers in the drawing to secure a third-prize payout worth $50,000.
Powerball numbers are selected from a field of one through 69, while the red Power Ball is drawn separately from a field of one through 26. Drawings are televised every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

The New York Lottery said it remains North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, contributing $3.6 billion during the 2024-2025 fiscal year to support public schools across New York State.

Players must be 18 or older to participate in New York Lottery games.
