TOMS RIVER, NJ – A man is in custody after authorities say he hurled a frying pan through a glass window at the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Friday, prompting a swift police response and a crime scene investigation.
According to officials, Benjamin Candy was arrested within minutes by Ocean County Sheriff’s Officers and Toms River Police Department officers who were nearby when the incident occurred. Candy was taken to District 1 headquarters for processing.
The incident caused damage to the building’s glass entrance but no injuries were reported. Crime Scene Investigators (C.S.I.) remained at the scene Friday evening collecting evidence and assessing the extent of the damage.

Authorities have not released details regarding a possible motive or the charges Candy may face, but officials confirmed the situation was quickly contained and there was no ongoing threat to the public.
