BOSTON, MA – Early Sunday, Boston Police Department’s District B-3 responded to a 9-1-1 call for a person with a gun at 550 River Street. Shane Hampton, 31, from Randolph, reportedly approached a civilian with a firearm. The civilian was able to restrain the intoxicated suspect until the police arrived.
Hampton was arrested and charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. The firearm in question was a 9mm Taurus G2C, loaded with twelve rounds. Hampton is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. No injuries were reported in the incident.
