Man caught with child sex abuse video in Ocean County investigation

Brick Township man arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A 42-year-old man from Brick Township has been arrested and charged following the discovery of a video depicting child sexual abuse material on his cellphone, officials announced Tuesday.

Marc Fay surrendered to authorities at Brick Township Police Headquarters after being charged with Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. He was taken into custody and transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he remains held pending a release hearing.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad in collaboration with the Brick Township Police Department Detective Bureau. A forensic analysis of Fay’s cellphone led to the recovery of the illicit material.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office noted that the investigation is ongoing and credited the joint work of the two departments involved in the arrest.

Fay is facing a felony-level offense under New Jersey law. If convicted, he could face severe legal penalties, including prison time and mandatory registration as a sex offender.

Authorities remind the public that the charges are accusations, and Fay is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

Anyone with information related to this case is urged to contact the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office or the Brick Township Police Department.
