Man Charged in Harrison Hit-and-Run Incident

Jersey City, NJ- Authorities have charged a 52-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run that severely injured a pedestrian in Harrison. The incident, which took place on May 17, involved a collision that left a 66-year-old woman hospitalized with serious injuries.

Robert Marmora, a resident of Kearny, faces charges of Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Endangering an Injured Victim. He was apprehended at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus on Wednesday, September 25 and has been released pending his first court appearance scheduled for October 17.

The hit-and-run occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on May 17 when the Harrison Police were alerted to a pedestrian struck near Harrison Avenue and South 5th Street. Officers found the injured woman, who was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment of serious lower and mid-body injuries. The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene, but authorities later identified Marmora’s Ford EcoSport as the suspect vehicle.
