Manchester Police Captain Meets with OCC Criminal Justice Students

TOMS RIVER, NJ – For students attending Ocean County College’s Criminal Justice program, Wednesday was a day for them to meet a special guest.

The one and only Captain Vincent Manco, who serves as a public information officer for the department showed up to class to meet with the students. Manco is regularly featured in news stories at Shore News Network and other media publications across the state as the news industry’s face of the department.

“Captain Vincent Manco was pleased to meet with Ocean County College students during a Criminal Justice class being taught by retired Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Vincent Petrecca,” the department said. “During his visit, Captain Manco, an alumnus of the Criminal Justice program, shared some of his experiences in law enforcement, including information on how students can shine amongst their peers with regard to law enforcement recruitment and hiring.”

Manco also answered several questions and ended the visit with an overview of the Manchester Police Department hiring process.

It’s unclear if Manco prepped the students on how to deal with the sometimes overanxious and often impatient news media.
