MARLBORO, NJ – The Marlboro Police Department is warning residents about an uptick in car thefts and burglaries in recent weeks.

In a statement from the office of Chief Peter J. Pezzullo, Marlboro Township Police Department has highlighted a concerning uptick in attempted motor vehicle thefts and residential burglaries with the intent to obtain key fobs. Authorities anticipate this trend to persist throughout the holiday season.

To combat this issue, Marlboro Police have committed to implementing proactive patrol measures in an effort to deter and address these incidents. Notably, specific data from the State indicates that the majority of targeted vehicles are the BMW X series.

As a preventive measure, all residents are strongly advised to adhere to the following precautions:

  • Lock your vehicles.
  • Take your key fobs inside.
  • Secure your homes.
  • Set your alarms every night.

The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately to the Police. This swift reporting allows law enforcement to promptly respond and conduct investigations into these concerning incidents.
