Maryland Man Charged in Fatal Temple Hills Park Shooting That Killed DC Woman

Prince George’s County police say a 51-year-old Clinton man has been arrested and charged with murder in the April shooting death of a Washington, D.C., woman found in a Temple Hills park parking lot.

TEMPLE HILLS, Md. — A Maryland man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting at a Prince George’s County park that left a 38-year-old Washington, D.C., woman dead.

The Prince George’s County Police Department announced that 51-year-old William Jolly of Clinton has been charged with the murder of Juanita Frazier, whose body was discovered at Oxon Run Community Park on April 28.

According to investigators, officers with the Maryland-National Capital Park Police – Prince George’s County Division and Prince George’s County police responded to the park at approximately 10:15 p.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman.

Victim found dead in park parking lot

When officers arrived at Oxon Run Community Park, they located Frazier in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit launched an investigation and worked to identify the person responsible for the killing.

Suspect arrested at Clinton home

Police said detectives used various investigative techniques to identify Jolly as the suspect and subsequently obtained an arrest warrant.

On Friday, members of the Prince George’s County Police Department Fugitive Unit, working as part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Jolly at his home in Clinton.

Investigators said the preliminary investigation determined that Jolly drove Frazier to Oxon Run Community Park before allegedly shooting her and leaving the area.

Murder charges filed

Jolly has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and related offenses.

He is being held by the Department of Corrections without bond.

Authorities said the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur within the jurisdiction of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police – Prince George’s County Division.
