Michael Jordan’s son name-drops father during DUI, drug arrest in Florida

February 5, 2025

MAITLAND, Fla. — Marcus Jordan, the son of basketball legend Michael Jordan, repeatedly referenced his famous father during his arrest for DUI, cocaine possession, and resisting officers without violence, according to police body camera footage.

Officers in Maitland, near Orlando, found Jordan’s car stranded on train tracks early Tuesday morning. Jordan, 34, attempted to enlist officers’ help in moving the vehicle and insisted he was fit to drive, police said.

During the hourlong body camera recording, Jordan at times berated officers, claimed they would not have arrested him if he were not Black, and sang along to songs in the patrol vehicle, including “Eye of the Tiger.” He also referred to himself in the third person, saying, “You brought in Marcus Jordan.”

One officer, appearing unaware of his identity, asked, “Are you popular or something?” before adding, “I don’t know who you are, man.”
