Man caught on camera roaming Newark backyard in early morning trespass
Newark, NJ – A man moving through a residential backyard in the early morning hours of March 20 has prompted a public search after surveillance footage captured repeated trespassing activity on a quiet Newark block, leaving investigators seeking help to identify him.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Alexander Street, where video shows the individual entering and walking through the rear of a private property multiple times. The activity was recorded by home surveillance systems, according to information released by the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Officials described the suspect as a Black male with short braided hair and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt featuring a brown or orange logo, green camouflage pants, and white shoes.
Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. issued a request for assistance, asking anyone who recognizes the individual or has information related to the incident to come forward. Authorities have not released additional details about possible motives or whether any property damage or theft occurred during the trespassing.
